Briarwood Products, the UK's leading manufacturer of Big 6 fibre cement profiled sheets and a long-standing supplier to the British agricultural market, today announced the launch of new single skin production lines at its Highbridge headquarters, backed by an investment of more than £7 million.
The investment significantly expands the family-owned manufacturer's capability, enabling it to produce a far wider range of roofing and cladding products for customers across the agricultural, industrial and commercial sectors.
The new lines allow Briarwood to manufacture box profiled, corrugated, pantile, standing seam and other single skin roofing and cladding panels. Each is available in an extensive range of colours, materials and thicknesses, offered at highly competitive rates. To support the expanded range, the company has also enhanced and upgraded its transport fleet to meet growing demand. The investment is creating significant local employment, with Briarwood set to expand its workforce by 30 new positions by the end of the year.
As part of the expansion, Briarwood has partnered with Tata Steel, one of the industry's leading coil manufacturers. The partnership means the company's PVC plastisol products carry guarantees of up to 30 years, giving customers confidence in the long-term performance and durability of their roofing and cladding.
"As the leading fibre cement manufacturer of Big 6 profiled sheets, it's the natural progression to start manufacturing single skin roofing and cladding products to our customers. We've bolstered our product offering, enhanced and upgraded our transport fleet ready to cater for the workload. We began manufacturing back in May, and we're already doing thousands of metres per day," said Oliver Janes, CEO of Briarwood Products.
The new production lines are operational now, with the full range of single skin panels available to order from the Highbridge site.
